summing all the cost involving Regalvanizing several
Towers pieces , i read cost for the work to do it,
plus if your tower is UP, removing all the sections,
transport to the company , all this cost and later the
cost to put all again , i think for some will be
cheaper and faster buy new sections or used in better
conditions and sell the rust ones to others that want
to pay the "cheap tower" and the regalvanizing work
i think will be good a final cost analysis to know if
pay or not to perform all the work, maybe for a R25g
will not pay (unless free and at groun level), for
bigger tower can be an option if the tower was buyed
cheap and is at the ground.
others just "repair" the rust with cold galvanizing
or just swap the section.
other think, the paint used in comercial towers is
Water Based Latex Emulsion under the name of Blended
Vinyl Acrylic Emulsion , rohn-radian sell it with
this use:
Water Based Tower Paint for use on untreated
galvanized surfaces. Vinyl/acrylic emulsion resin
provides long-term protection and performance. Offers
resistance to weather, ease of application with a
paint mitt, and freedom from fire hazard. Meets FAA
regulations for color-coding.
