rotation torque be amplified?

Not really. The tower acts like a big torsion rod to some extent but it
does not amplify anything.

Yes, the whole tower sits on a big bearing.

> 2. Will the sway be reduced since the rotor is not at the top?

Doesn't make much difference. The limiting factor with the rotator on
the top is the rotator and how much load it'll take in a mast-mounted
configuration.

> 3. How bad is the sway with the tubular type towers in general?

Define bad sway. They move and bang around some and they aren't as
strong as a lattice-type one but then they're cheaper too.

> 4. With a rotor gage at the top of either the U.S. Tower or the Tashijan
doesn't this add to the wind load ratings and how do I calculate that load?

What's a rotor gage? You mean cage? Feel free to add it in to your
calculations. It's less than 1.0 square feet in any case.

> 6. Can I expect noise form any of the three above in the cranked up
position. What has been your experience with noise?

They all clank to some extent - the tubulars are a little worse in this
department.

> 7. What have you experienced with delivery time and support from the
manufacturer? I will need the base assembly on site near the end of this
year.

UST is the 800# gorilla but does a pretty good job of customer support.
I've seen them bend over backwards to resolve customer problems.

> Last and final question, if you were to buy a new tower with a desired
height of around 45 feet and be neighbor friendly what would you buy?
You thoughts and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

You didn't say anything about guy wires so I'll skip those but the best and
least expensive is a Tryon Titan self-supporter available in many
configurations. _www.championradio.com/towers.html_
