Can I use hose clamps to secure the cable?

Probably... Certainly for the small stuff. For what it is worth... I am
using 5 SS (I hate rust) U-bolts to secure 65 feet of 1 5/8" hardline to my
tower (this is big heavy stuff) Snugged down just enough to grip. The flat
plate goes over the coax. It bends just a tad. The U is on the tower. The
idea
is to hold - not squash...

My last QTH in ENY had 3 or 4 1/2" and another 3 3/4" runs of bare AL CATV
hardline running up 90 feet. I used SS hose clamps on all of them. No
problem. Again, tighten just enough so you don't squash the cable. Extra hose
clamps
are a cheap tradeoff
