In the FWIW department: I've heard many horror stories about parts and
repair support for Yaesu's rotators, but I crossed my fingers and
whistled past the graveyard since mine has worked for 7 years just fine.
However... now I need a main control PCB for my G-1000DXA's control box.
Per a conversation this afternoon with Joe at Vertex parts, the original
PCB in my box is no longer stocked, it's been replaced by a newer
version, which Vertex will happily sell me for $310 plus shipping.
I don't want to be oversensitive, but since new 1000DXA's rotator
packages sell for $499 retail for the entire enchilada, that seems a bit
steep for just the control box circuit board.
1. This has been my last Yaesu rotator purchase ever.
2. Does anybody have a junk G-1000DXA rotator with a good control box?
