Well, lets see... the g-1000 needs 12-24vdc, that part should be easily
salvaged or replaced with a new circuit in that size box.  The left/right
rocker switch is probably salvageable.  And the position indicator is
nothing but a 500ohm pot, a circuit with a simple needle type meter would
easily fit in the hole where that big dial is.  All you lose is the preset
and overlap light that comes off the fancy feedback circuit boards and big
dial mechanism.

Or keep looking, I picked up a spare box here with a trashed rotor pretty
cheap.  And keep in mind that sdx boxes do the same functions just with
different connectors I believe.  And also that g-800, 1000, 2700, and 2800
boxes are all interchangeable.  The only addition is that the 2700 and 2800
have an extra input line for an automatic slowdown before they hit the
stops... just ignore that wire for the 800 or 1000's.
