When I replaced my 60 foot stick of Rohn 25 with an 85 foot stick of Rohn 45
last year I was stuck with the same problem: how to get the old 3 by 3 by 4
chunk of concrete out? Owning a large farm meant we had a large John Deere
skid steer. I put the forks on it and dug around the sides to loosen it up
and then put a large chain around the legs and put a couple of muffler
clamps around the legs to keep the chains from pulling up. I figured the Z
bracing would just pull apart. I then let the power of the skid steer pull
it up as I rocked it back and forth. About 2 minutes of this and out it
came. Picking up some 3500 pounds of concrete and hauling it away to be
buried a couple of hundred feet away was rather fun. I don't think the back
skid steer tires ever touched the ground but it sure was fun driving doing a
"Polish" wheely.
