I believe the primary mechanical difference is the use of the cast
aluminum tilt-bracket boom-mast clamp in the DXX, compared to the DX's
pair of plates similar to the boom-element brackets. I only have DXX
manuals here so i can't compare element dimensions and spacings
between the two models.
