When lightning hit mine, it was obvious. The black shrink wrap and all the
wire were vaporized on both coils on the driven element (they were white
instead of black!). I just looked at it with my binoculars.

Subject: [TowerTalk] 40-2CD problem

Hello,

I am reinstalling my 40-2CD.

He was not working, so I take it down. Seems a thunder trike hit it, because
the coaxial was burn in the top. I replace balun (I replaced balun and
coaxial to be sure the problem is not here, put it up, but still with high
SWR in all the band.

Maybe a problem in the traps? Looking them seems not to be a problem. Is
there any way to check the traps to know if someone have a problem?

Any suggestion how can I check it?

Thanks in advance!!

73,

Jorge
