Thanks for the comments on PPM's. They pretty much fall in line with what I 
have observed over the past few decades of using them. Probably about 35 VDC 
with a 200 foot loop of # 12 should give 1/2 to 1 rpm for my LP (15 ele on 
46 ft boom). Perhaps a lilttle slow, but you know it's going to get there 
and not stall along the way. A few decades ago I runied a good PPM by giving 
it the speed modification - definitely not recommended. My feeling is that 
anyone who doesn't mind spending a few bucks would get the ideal rotation 
system by using one of Kurt's PPM's  with a Green Heron controller. All you 
would want of torque, breaking, long term reliability and convenience.
