Hi Todd -

It's not too unusual for the brake wedge to get hung up in the drive gear on 
the Ham-m. If you could twist the mast back and forth a bit and perhaps rap 
a little on the housing it might free it up without having to take it down 
and apart. I had a similar experience a few years ago. I think that's why 
MFJ is selling (and I installed) a brake application delay circuit. Good 
luck with it.
