Yes I do hear the typical clank when I hit the brake release and I also have a
lighting protection device inline with the rotor. I am going to perform some
resistance tests according to the rotor manual sometime this week when I get a
chance to disconnect the cable downstream from the lightning protection device.
I also have a quick disconnect, but is located only a few feet down the cable
from the rotor on the tower. I will check it once I am able to lower the tower.
I hope that it turns out to be something at ground level like the lightning
protection device which would make the fix a little easier for now.

down the tower first. I just recently saw a similar problem at my QTH with a
new tailtwister and found that my quick disconnect where the rotor cable enters
the home had an intermittent connection. Old hands do not make great plugin
connections hi.
