Befriend the track coach at your local university. Because of the potential
for serious injury if they break during use,
fiberglass vaulting poles get replaced often. You might get one free, still
perfectly good for antenna work...

Hy-Gain/MFJ wants $129 for the 5ft fiberglass cross-boom used in their
2m/70cm satellite antenna system.
Although I am not going to use their antennas, I still thought of using
their cross-boom. But is there another source of suitable material at a
