Many OSCAR operators use steel tubing. Before dismissing it, look at the
results of some actual study.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Fiberglass cross-boom material?

Hy-Gain/MFJ wants $129 for the 5ft fiberglass cross-boom used in their
2m/70cm satellite antenna system.

Although I am not going to use their antennas, I still thought of using
their cross-boom. But is there another source of suitable material at a
better price?
