Actually the M2 controller already has a point and shoot capability. It is
just exceedingly cumbersome to use? One has to remember the proper sequence
of buttons to get to a menu that allows one to select the desired "point"
desired; and also remember what the numbers 1 to 10 correspond to, i.e. the
"point/degrees" that the controller will send the rotator to!

## I have 2 of the OR-2800 control box's for a pair of mating OR-2800's..and
also
the GH box for my K7NV prop pitch. The GH box blows away the M2 box
...hands down.

## Beware, there is a mode on the M2 box.. [ it might be the point and
shoot]... but it has one
major drawback. It will ramp up... but will not ramp down..which really
sucks.

## The "point and shoot" mode on the M2 box means u have to watch the numbers
 spool up..til
it gets to where u want it to go..then rls it... then it starts up.

## The 1-10 noted above by K7puc are the 10 x pre-sets..which are not
really point and shoot per se.

## If any folks are thinking of buying a new OR-2800..... don't buy the
mating m2 control box.... buy just the
OR-2800 rotor. The M2 control box is almost as much $$ as the GH box. At
least m2 now sells the OR-2800
with/without the m2 control box.

## The standard GH RT-21 control box is a good investment. It will run any
rotor, made by anybody...since it allows for
several AC voltages.. and also several DC voltages. The stock RT-21 will run
anything from ham-4's to tic rings, protistels,
alpha spid, etc. If u bought a GH box.... you can keep it, even if you sell
the OR-2800. It will run anything except a prop pitch.
The K7NV GH RT-21 is a modified RT-21..but only outputs one DC
voltage..and uses a big xfmr for that purpose. The menu on the RT-21 is a
snap to use..and really fast to program or tweak. If your friends are using
RT-21's
even with different rotors.... it's easy to use their RT-21's..since they all
operate the same way. It's now like a defacto standard for rotor control
box's. The customer service from GH is the best yet. Mine was the older
RT-20 [ for the PP]. GH sent me the new chip for $25.00 and once
I plugged it in.. presto, it now becomes a RT-21. Took 3 mins to remove the
old chip and install the new one. Not having ramp up/down on any rotor
esp a tic ring..is like driving into a brick wall..and hard on any rotor.

Later... Jim VE7RF
