Several years ago someone on the VHF email list swept a connector of
this style and didn't find any problems until 1296. And then there was a
slight impedance bump on 1296. FWIW I have been using this style of
connector on 50-1296 for years. I have a KW or more on 50/144/432.

Some brands of this type of connector have center pins that are
easily pushed out of the connector if the center conductor is too long.
If you push the pin out very slightly it may no longer aligned properly.
So be sure and prepare you coax properly. Some brands have more problem
with this issue than others. But often the connectors have no brand name
stamped on the connector so it can be hard to know which brand you have.
