What is the recommended support material for horizontal support of small (boom length <15 ft.) VHF & UHF yagis (144-450 MHz)? My guess would be FRP tube with sufficient O.D. & wall thickness to provide the required strength. The calcs. are easy but depend on the material. My primary concern is the environment, e.g. sun in So. Cal.
