On the shack side. In general, coax on a tower should be bonded top and bottom.

  If the choke is on the shack side, wouldn't lightning "see" the high impedance of the 
choke and be "forced" to ground at the bond?

Well, at least "suggested" to ground. :) But the inductance of the run to the shack does that too.


There should, of course, be a choke at every antenna feedpoint.
