A good ground system is nice, and expensive. Is there any way to reduce
cost, por example, may I connect 2 or 3 rotor control lines (5 wires each)
to a single Polyphaser IS-RCT? So 2-3 wires will be connected to the same
terminal of the IS-RCT?

Thanks,
Jorge

Hello Ray,

The grounding system is definately not a place to skimp. Its what protects
your radios, and really your entire home, from lightning. My tower gets hit
directly on average three times a year (a hill off of lake erie). Yet i have
never lost a single component. Ever. Thats the value of a good ground
system.

I recommend buying the Polyphasor grounding book. It will tell you exactly
how to install a great system including the most important part - a single
point ground. You are on the right track with copper strap and ground rods.
DXE carries Polyphasor parts and their parts and service are excellent.
Another source to compare costs is Harger.

Best regards,

Has anyone come up with a way to connect flat copper straps to ground rods?
DXXE sells copper clamps w/ hardware, but at $35 a pop, I hoping that there
is a more reasonable way to get the job done.

My copper strap is 2" wide, by 6ft, and about 18 ga, but not sure.

Tnx,

Ray,
