For those of you with access to marine supply houses you also might consider
CorrosionBlock, a product widely used for electrical connections by the
fishing, crab and pleasure boat vessels here on the OR coast. I have been
using the compound since it came recommended to me by the local marine
supply house at the Port of Newport in OR. I use the compound that comes in
a squeeze tube on all of my electrical connections, including the 8 pin
trailer connectors for the rotator, the coax connectors, and the surfaces of
the beam elements where they slide together. I also use it on the threads
of all of SS hardware (who said SS will not corrode some or seize!!!!!!) The
air here on the salt water with incoming westerly winds is tough on
anything. This compound has held up well over the 13 years I've had antennas
up. Because of the constant winter rains and winds I was particularly also
interested in it not washing out. CorrosionBlock is made by Lear Chemical
(I've no interest in the company). It has no metals and is neutral to
electrical and electronic applications I've used it for.
