As does plexiglass (acrylic resin). When specifying any plastic for direct sun exposure UV-stabilized grades must be used if long life is desired. Given this caveat my choice would be for polycarbonate over acrylic.

Sabic Lexan (formerly GE Lexan) comes in UV-stabilized grades in the 1x3 series (123, 133, 163), as does Bayer in their Makrolon GP and OP lines of polycarbonate. The Bayer product is available through USPlastics in small quantities:
