Thanks for the responses -   I saw the 45GL section on Tesco site described as
a "ground lug" section. What I am referring to is found in the Rohn printed
product catalog No. 3 on these pages: First look in the 45G section on page #62
which is the 130 MPH 45G standard design charts. Underneath the info chart for
the highest 45G 130 MPH design, which is 150', is this information sitting by
itself "*45GL5 Lug section required for 5/16" guy". Next, in the general guyed
towers section, look on page #152 where they show 3 drawings of guy connection
details. The drawing at upper left for 25G through 55G shows a guy bracket
resting on a guy lug, in addition to resting on the usual "zig-zag" brace, plus
it is stated that "the guy bracket must rest on horizontal tower brace and guy
lug when provided for larger guys".   I am wondering if there is a mix-up in
the Rohn catalog between 45G and 45GSR regarding the guy lug, and that a 45GL5
section mistakenly specified as a guy lug section when the 45GL5 is really a
45G section with a ground lug at the 5' level (possibly for using as concrete
base section 5' in ground/5' above ground). The 45GL ground lug section has a
choice for ground lug either 2' up or 5' up on section, so I wondering if a
45GL2 would be one with ground lug 2' up section.      I have now sent a query
to Rohn but thought I would post here first to see if anyone has ever seen any
45G tower sections with guy lugs attached to tower legs. I never have seen nor
heard of them period. On 45GSR (solid rod with flanges) yes I have seen the guy
lugs welded to tower legs.   It concerns me as you want to follow manufacturer
designs on these towers and install them reasonably as close to the way the
book specifies as possible. When a part #, in connection with a description of
the purpose of the part, is not jiving then it must be clarified.   Thanks,
Byron W5FH
