Howdy, TowerTalkians -

Over the years I've installed and replaced lots of rotators so doing a
local rotator swap was going to be pretty straightforward. The rotor was a T2X
and the tower was a HG-55. This installation had been up for quite a while and
I didn't do the original install.      After getting the TailTwister back from
Bob, W7BA (who incidentally does great rotator repairs - feel free to contact
him) - I re-installed the T2X which went successfully after the usual farting
around. But when the owner started up the rotator to verify its installation,
the rotator stalled. I went back up and the ears of the T2X were hitting the
diagonals preventing any further rotation. And the ears weren't just hitting
them - they were 1/2" to an inch too big so just bending the diagonals wasn't
going to solve the problem.      HUH?!? This was the same rotator in the same
place  and now it doesn't work? There were no spacers or anything to raise the
rotator for clearance and it's totally obvious that the T2X is too big for that
tower. (We're going to raise the rotator up on inch long spacers so that we can
get it to work.)     I've got NO IDEA what the deal is. Why did it work for
years and now can't even get started? It must be a poltergeist since I've got
no other explanation. I'm completely flummoxed on this thing.   Cheers,Steve
