Whatever is selected, a valid UL listing is a must, and install it per NEC 810 and the manufacturers instructions.

All of our commercial sites use polyphasers per the insurance underwriter.

Hello Gents,

I've been asked to help with a vhf/uhf station installation. I was asked "what type,
model etc of lightning arrester should I use"? The antenna is only a fiberglass dual
band vertical and will not be above the tree tops.

This gent lives in the mountains/forest of Idaho.
I've never used one, I just disconnect coax when storms are predicted, but
can't expect him to do the same.

So, what are the prevailing thoughts/suggestions about this?

Thanks so much!
