Just zero it with both shift keys, or an embedded control character (I don't
remember what one, it's in the manual) to zero it every time you send a CQ.

If you don't want to use it (or only want to use the knob on the radio) and
don't want to accidentally move the RIT, turn it off in the Control-J menu.
It's called SHIFT KEY ENABLE and setting it to false will stop the shift
keys from moving the RIT.
