TRLOG Reflectorites,
I have been using TRLOG on a Compaq desktop, 75 mhz cpu running Windows =
95. I have been successful in interfacing from computer to rig (Ten Tec =
Omni VI) and from rig to computer including CW keying from the keyboard =
using the circuit described by Glenn - AE0Q.
Not one to "leave well enough alone", I am trying to replace the desktop =
computer with a Toshiba laptop and have not been successful. I have =
tried 2 different laptops and the results are:
1) Toshiba Libretto, 75 mhz Pentium, Windows 95, the CW keying from the =
computer works and nothing else does. Computer to rig - nothing, rig to =
computer - nothing.
2) Toshiba 2545CDS laptop, 233 mhz cpu, Windows 98. The computer will =
control changing bands, changing modes and the CW keying works. =
Changing bands or mode on the Omni has no affect on the computer screen =
at all. The frequency readout is not displayed.=20
All 3 computers were "tested" using the exact same interface cable which =
I put together.
I am assuming that via the fact the CW keying is working on all =
computers is verifying the serial ports are working, however there is a =
difference in how they send and receive data, which is I think, my =
problem.
Does anyone have any ideas or experienced this "serial port" problem as =
well? Any help would be greatly appreciated! (I hate it when technology =
kicks my rear!!!)
