Hi Bob,
I'm guessing that this is a conflicting windows issue in TRLog. Did you by
any chance have any user info display enabled? If you do, the user info
display overwrites the QTC number display. Just set USER INFO SHOWN = NONE
and the QTC number window should stay permanently visible. Any time you do a
dupe check, or whenever the call window is updated from the band map, the
QTC number will be updated. Towards the end of the contest, if you have
worked pretty well everyone you hear but you still have unsent QTCs, the
dupe check comes in handy in tracking down someone to send QTCs to.
You can change the colors in this QTC number window with the (undocumented)
QTC NUMBER WINDOW COLOR and QTC NUMBER WINDOW BACKGROUND commands in the
LOGCFG file.
There is also data on pending and sent QTC totals on the bottom line of the
totals window. With the default colors, I found this information hard to
spot quickly because it's directly above the remaining mults window, so I
changed the background color of the remaining mults window to make the QTC
data stand out better. This information was helpful in deciding whether to
hit Alt-U before Ctrl-Q when sending QTCs.
BTW, if you prefer not to send short QTC groups, just turn your transmitter
power down or switch to a weaker antenna. If they have to work hard to copy
your exchange, they won't ask you for QTCs ;-)
