I'm getting set up for SS using an outboard MFJ voice keyer. Works
great, but as I look at fully utilizing SO2R, I find the need for a
command (ctrl-P type or whatever) that would key the PTT line for a
specified time since TR can not possibly know how long my Alt-D voice
message lasts. Does such an animal exist?
By adjusting the delay between automatic CQs and VOX, I don't have any
issues on the run radio, but the second rig is going to be highly manual
without a timing command. Someday, I'll think enough about SSB to
invest in a DVP board, but for now, phone isn't a high priority.
