I use a SIIG PCI dual port card. At first, I could not get it to work under
DOS. Worked FB in Windows but no joy in DOS or a DOS Window. Would not
communicate with either radio or with the TNC. Calls to SIIG customer service
did not solve the problem.
Experimenting, I re-booted to DOS and went through the step-by-step
confirmation option. (I'm using whatever DOS version came with my Windows98.)
By answering "No" to certain steps, I have been able to get the SIIG card to
work in DOS, and I'm in great shape for CW contests and using two radios.
However, one of the drivers I don't load in this boot-up sequence is the driver
for the sound card. So, I am unable to operate SBDVP in SO2R mode with this
approach.
This may be a long shot for you since this appears to be some sort of
PC-specific conflict between TR and the OS and its drivers. But, I can email
you my boot sequence (what drivers get loaded, what don't) if you want to give
it a shot.
