I sent an "emergency" e-mail friday evening
when I couldn't get my voice keying to work.
I later realized that what I had sent did not get
close to explaining the problem that I was encountering.
I will try to do this again with more definative data.

  1. I recorded the messages that I wanted to use and
assigned them to F-2,3,4,5 and 8.
  2. They were all tested with a friend listening across the
river, and it all worked and sounded tolerable.
  3. Exited the program and went downstairs for a while.
  4. At the appropriate time, I came back and fired up the program
and started the contest. I punched one of the function
keys and the transmitter keyed up, but there was no audio being
transmitted, thus no power out.
  5. I immediately exited the program, powered down the computer,
brought it back up and re-entered the program. I went into the setup menu
and clicked on the SSB button, checked to make sure that the band was
set properly and then found a clear frequency and punched the
CQ function key and it worked. Unfortunately, I didn't get an answer
so I punched the button again and then it was back in the broken mode.
Transmitter keys but no audio....
  6. Was using the line output to drive the rig, so changed to the speaker out,
but still nothing.
  7. I could, however, hear the messages on the speaker from the sound card
if it was plugged into either the line out or the speaker out.
  8. I do not use an amplifier,so I think it doubtful that it is an RF
problem,especially
since it had worked earlier in the day.

I think that pretty well explains the situation. Does anyone have any
idea or
ideas that can help. I'd like to use this feature in the WPX test.
Thanks,
  Tom K5IID
