I agree too. Whenever I receive cut numbers, the brain has to 
manually translate "let's see, didah = A, A = 1" rather than the 
automatic didadadadah, finger hits the 1 key.  This delays my 
confirmation response, making up for any time saved by a 
transmission a few msec. shorter. 
But don't listen to me (or the others). As those who know me will 
tell you, my CW abilities aren't what they used to be - I can only 
copy about 80 WPM now...
