Clive,

Never saw any real explanation of the difference but know that in can be a
real problem for an operator.

I started on an Autek keyer (think they were type B ) and could never
operate some of the keyers which used the original Curtis chip (type A).
The AEA keyer was also like the Autek. Might have the A and B reversed.

I just did a web search and the Curtis 8044ABM popped up - no longer
avilable but at least 'documents' that there are two types.
