May I add a bit of information?

I just recently started using both Partition Magic and Norton
Ghost. For protecting your computer from "pilot errors", that is
a near-perfect combination. You can set up a second or third
partition on your hard drive with PM and then using Norton Ghost,
make an identical copy of your primary partition on one of the
others. Many backup programs do not make "perfect" copies of
your files for several reasons: either they won't copy a file
that's in use by another program, or they don't "see" hidden or
system files, or whatever.

By contrast, Norton Ghost boots up and runs entirely from a
floppy disk so your regular operating system is not involved at
all. This way, NG is able to make a perfect, bit-by-bit copy of
ALL your files. IMO, this is the only way to do a backup - total
and complete down to the last bit. No matter how badly you munge
your system, you can restore a perfect copy in a matter of
minutes.

The usual disclaimers apply. Just a satisfied customer.
