I am using XP Pro. CT program keys through the LPT port just fine... Over the past few days I have tried using both the LPT and the Serial (Com) Ports with the transistor circuit. I've tried all of the suggestions posted without unsatisfactory results...It simply will not key my FT-One. So I am left with no alternative than to use the writelog with a hand keyer or the Ct keyboard.

On another subject... Yesterday I tried to setup the soundcard to store msgs and play them. I checked the soundcard with the program suggested and it is compatable with Writelog except for disabling the mike when msg are being sent. But Writelog disables the soundcard control completely when it is opened even with a SSB contest module. I am not sure why?

It's becoming frustrating. Otherwise the logging went well in NAQP CW last weekend. I used the outboard keyer and CT for sending CW.

Hi Steve,

No I didn't rename the FPORT16.EXE file.

OK. That file is actually obsolete and should no longer be used. Just
rename it to FPORT16.SAV or some thing like hat.

I was not aware that was needed
with UserPort. I looked for the the LPT port listed in the writelog.ini.

It is in the [ports] section. Just make sure the addresses are correct for
the LPT's.

Couldn't find it.

The OS I'm using is Windows Pro on a Asus motherboard attempting to key an
old FT-ONE.

Windows Pro !? NT Pro? 2000 Pro? XP Pro ?

I am using the serial port 9 pin wiring to pins 4 and 5 for keying. There's
9V there that may be causing the problem. The keying shuts off the
voltage.

That is thoroughly confusing!
You are talking about LPT ports and using User Port which is only
required for LPT keying and now you say you are set up for CW
keying via the serial port!!!

Please look at the help file. I never use serial port keying but
believe that it requires a different interface than LPT keying (maybe).
