The driver doesn't always work with WL.  I have offered before and I
offer again to chip in to get the program writers a newerr compiler
which I assume will let WL do what other programs do - that is not
require a separate driver and much fiddling around which has not bee
successful on this computer.

In days of old with DOS (and Windows 95, 98 and ME which are DOS based)
you could access the parallel port directly.  Windows NT, 2000 and XP
you can't without a special driver.
