You are nearly there Bob :
Setup, CW/RTTY/SSB messages, Browse as you have already done then:
Locate and select a previous contest which already has the .wav files in.
All mine are located in C:\ham\contests and obviously have .WL extension.
You should have a set of names already F2 = <msg2.wav> etc. so would
only need to select if you had renamed them. I have left all mine as their
default name and folder C:\ham\WaveFiles. I re-record as necessary.
I only use the Browse facility for selecting CW messages, eg select a
previous CQWW contest for 5NN14 exchange, or WPX contest when a
serial number is required.
Microphone is always connected to my mH Keyer unit, to the computer and
then to the radio. You can then record on the fly.

When I am in the menu that shows the F-Key slots and I click on BROUSE, It
goes to the directory that I designated as to their location, BUT, it only
gives me the choice of files that end with...... .wl and .cnt
It will not display the .wav files in that directory.
K3SV and I discussed the problem via LL and I followed his directions and
was able to get the wave files to play.
What I had to do was manually type the name of the wave file into the <....>
F-key drop down box.
The BROUSE button just does not work for me.
One additional question. Do most operators have their (In my case, the Heil
Gold Line) ALWAYS connected to the sound card or what? I recorded my sound
bites using a computer type mic and am not happy with the audio.
