Gary,
First, just checking, do you have the mkII or the mkIIg? There was an
addendum that came with the IC706-mkIIg and the new address is 58H. Like I
said, just checking. Also, a lot of ground has been covered already, but I
did try with success the following.

Regardless, WL uses the address of 48H which is the address of the original
Icom-706, and as you know under [Rigs] you do need to ADD: Icom IC-706=0x4E

The command works with my Icom when used with IC-756ProIII and I set the
address to 4Eh to emulate the 706mkII. However, I would suggest is setting
your rig to Hex 48h and delete the Icom IC-706 entry in the [Rigs] .ini
section.

Also, important with WL and Icom rigs - DO NOT USE AUTOBAUD for anything -
It simply is not reliable, instead start with 9600 baud for both rig and
software.

In WriteLog Setup|Ports select Icom IC-706, baud 9600, check Poll and Comm
PTT= No.

With the Rig options 'CI-V Transceive' and 'CI-V with IC-731' might have to
be OFF if you have polling problems. I can't give you any suggestions with
the RigBlaster stuff as I use an interface from microHAM.

Last. I don't like or trust using Comm PTT with WL, though I think others do
use it. You might have to lean on those good people for PTT by commands.

Good luck on FD.
