Joe and Mark K6UFO,

Thanks for the replies. The mike level is set in Windows Vista Mixer and I
believe I have the WL Sound Board Mixer setup correctly - everything else
works, including recording the contest.

When I try to play MSG6.wav with Windows Media Player I get an error message
about being unable to play back. That caused me to do a bit more searching
and I think I've found the problem, but not the cure. My other msg.wav
files were created with the Dell laptop's internal sound chip and Audacity.
They play fine, but in checking these wav file properties the Details tab
says the Bit Rate is 352kbps. The Bit Rate for the Record on The Fly file
is only 176kbps. I suspect this is a file size that WL cannot handle. I
also seem to remember it is a problem for WL if the bit rates for all sound
files are not the same.

Problem is I don't know how to change the bit rate of the file size being
created by the MKII sound card. I checked the Router, but don't see it
there. Is it somewhere else in Windows?

73,
Gary AL9A
