Subject: Re: [WriteLog] Saving Configuration

Don, Nick.

Sometime ago I had written a short script to change writelog.ini files for
SO2R and my own station used with the microHam 2R+ Keyer. This was before
Windows 7 (I still use XP on my station computer) so I am not 100% sure how
Win7 protects itself, only that the rules for .ini files are tight. I still
use the script to configure WL and the microHam Keyer before each contest.

In any case, the script works for me. I can configure and save, right radio,
left radio both radios and CW or RTTY. Everyone is welcome to look at the
script and modify for their own use. I was going to automate the script, but
we moved to a new home and I am ashamed to say have not put my tower up yet,
so no further work was done on the script project. I have no doubt you guys
can modify the code for your own configuration.

The following is a rehash of a previous post I made:

I have written a number of vbScripts that can be used to configure any
number of WriteLog.ini files for custom starts. The sample files included
are actually the ones I use for my own station setup and you all are welcome
to use them as templates. These scripts work well, but you must take time to
configure them up for your own station setup.

My Skydrive does have a very long URL, you can download the zip file from
here:
http://cid-f3b31b3a46a60552.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/WriteLog%20Scripts

A few quick notes. There is a .pdf instruction file in the zipped up
download - Please read it! Before working with these scripts save your
existing writelog.ini file to a save place. I have made provisions to save
the custom backup ini files automatically when you get the scripts up and
running on your computer. There are assumptions made on my part, you know
how the writelog.ini file works, you know how to use NotePad and you know
how to create a file \folder and rename files. You don't need to be a
'geek', but you must be willing to learn or know how some of Windows tools
work.
- - - I hope it is of some help,Eric - ve3gsi
