(2) Are there any other settings I have to adjust to make it work
with USB in the 990S?

Have you set the USB data rate in the TS-990 (7-01) to match the
baud rate in WriteLog? The TS-990 defaults to 115,000 bps for
USB and I don't recall that WriteLog will work that fast. Try
setting both to 38,400.

Hello everyone,
Santa apologized and dropped off my new Kenwood TS 990s on Monday. Yay!
Using Writelog v 11.
I’m trying to get it connected to Writelog. I am currently using a Yaesu
FT 1000D and Microham USB II interface that works well with Writelog. The
990s has a USB out connector and RS 232 (DB9) in the back of the rig. (PC
only has USB - no RS-232 DB9) I have plugged in the USB at the back of
the 990 and the other end to the USB of the PC. The PC recognized the port
and assigned it as Com 14. I’m trying to get the rig to respond but have
had no luck.
(1) There are no specific Kenwood 990s Settings (yet) for Writelog Will
the Generic “Kenwood” setting do or do I have to use one of the other ones
( I believe the optiosn are Kenwood 850 and Kenwood 2000) ?
(2) Are there any other settings I have to adjust to make it work with USB
in the 990S?

Thanks for any help . 73
