Marsh, you are very close to what I'm trying to figure out.
What I'm trying to determine is what MODE designation do I need to use for each
line in the Cabrillo file. Here is a sample taken from my Cabrillo file for the
VHF contest. You can see the mode designation PH for SSB contacts and CW for CW
contacts. What should the designation be for FT8 contacts? I'm going to make
them all RTTY (designated as RY in the file) since they are "digital" contacts.
We'll see what happens.

CATEGORY-MODE:
The category-mode must be one of the following.
◾SSB
◾CW
◾RTTY
◾FM
◾MIXED
But, interesting to me, on the ARRL LoTW Awards DXCC Totals, confirmed RTTY and
FT8 QSOs are both included as "Digital" mode. Individual QSOs are listed as
RTTY or FT8, but added together under Digital for Awards total entities.
Lots of implications. We'll see how this all plays out.

Thankfully I didn't make a lot of FT8 contacts in the contest since the band
(six meters) was open so I made mostly CW and PH contacts.
I will be manually typing in the FT8 contacts. Should I designate them as RTTY
(RY) in the Cabrillo file? I realize it doesn't matter, but I have to put
something in the MODE part of the file to adhere to the Cabrillo 3.0 specs.
