Thanks Wayne.

If you are new to DigiRite, the first time you run it, be sure to go to the
Help menu (in DigiRite) and select View Readme. This is the instruction
guide to using DigiRite.

The contest starts 1200 August 31 and goes for 24 hours. Rules and other
information here:

https://ww-digi.com/

There will be several WW Digi Contest practice sessions where you can
practice with DigiRite. Here is the information in case you didn't see it on
other lists.

---

Two one-hour practices each week leading up to the contest (8 total practice
sessions):

        Fridays (9, 16, 23, 30 August) 19-20 UTC (EU evening)
        Saturdays (10, 17, 34, 31 August) 01-02 UTC (NA Friday evening)

These should be plenty of times for people to practice WW Digi within their
personal schedule. It's not ideal for some parts of the world beyond EU and
NA, but scheduling gets complex and confusing otherwise.

Use the recommended frequencies in the WW Digi rules. If you operate in the
daily FT frequency sub-bands be sure to use only the non-contest message
sequence with Grid Square and SNR. ('Special operating activity' is
disabled in WSJT-X.)

As part of your practice, feel free to try different scenarios that may
occur during the contest. For example, try both the WW Digi contest mode
(aka NA VHF Contest mode in WSJT-X's 'Special operating activity' function)
and the standard default message sequence with 'Special operating activity'
disabled. Use different calls you may have access to, e.g, club calls. Try
different configurations of your software, e.g., automatic vs. manual modes.

The WW Digi log processing system is up and running so we'd appreciate you
submitting your practice logs so we can test before the actual contest. All
logs will be cleared out before the start of the contest at 12 UTC on 31
August.

update

To run FT4 with DigiRite, regardless of contests in progress, you must
update to the latest DigiRite.

To operate in the WW Digi contest, you'll need to:
1. update to the latest WriteLog, version 12.42.
https://writelog.com/downloads/writelog-versions
2. update to the latest DigiRite (URL above)
3. In WriteLog, choose WW Digi Contest.
4. Right click in WriteLog's Entry Window to bring up DigiRite.
5. File/Setup in DigiRite to enter your grid square, AND set Exchange to
"Grid Square"
6. Contest/Parameter-Setup in WriteLog to ALSO enter your grid square.
(Yes, you must enter your grid twice.)

Earlier versions of WL and earlier versions of DigiRite can successfully
make WW Digi contest QSOs, but the auto sequencing in DigiRite and the
scoring in WL will not be optimum.
