I have not used that switch but have purchased antenna hardware (radial plate / tilt over mount / radials / etc) from DX Engineering and was very impressed with the quality and attention to detail. H

Yes softening startup current in rush helps them all. The one and only amp I ever built (single 3-500z w/3300v - 1 amp supply) was tuff on 120 line voltage and would dim the house lights at turn on.

My AL-80B arrived today and the 15/17M tuned input has a high vswr around 10:1. The other bands inputs have low vswr and this data is with the tuner in the 746 Pro turned off. The manual says nothing
