*Today I put in the plate current meter doubler circuit in my Alpha 76PA. It was necessary to remove the power supply to get at the back of the meter. Seemed to go pretty well or at least I thought.

You guys were right on. The coax had a bad connection at the end of the coupler but when the coupler was removed, it flexed the coax differently to make a good contact. Thanks much! 73 Dwight NS9I p.

About 6 mos ago I obtained a 1997 Alpha91b from a guy that hadn't used it since 2008 and had stored it down in his basement. It appeared in very nice shape inside and out. Everything tested out well.

I solved my problem by not using the PAPTT from the microham MKII. Don't know why but plugging it into the K3 directly took care of the low-receive problem. thanks for all the info. 73 Dwight NS9I On
