Doesn't a full wave bridge give you better regulation as all capacitors are charged on both halves of the AC waveform, where as with a voltage doubler the capacitors are only charged on half the wave

My 2 x 813 Amp, works all the way to 29MHz. Outputs 800W PEP with about 2300V on the plates. Grid driven with a DX-60. I also have an 2x813 modulated by 2x813 on 21MHz. Full legal limit 375W carrier

It seems counter intuitive, bit what Jim say's is true, block the blower and it does not have to move the air so is doing "less work". You can demonstrate this by monitoring the current on the vacuum

Normal power output, but as you would expect I need a little more drive as the bias voltage is increased. Drive power is 10-12W of carrier with around 120% upward modulation, so that's about 50W PEP
