Hi All, I was looking at "The Everyham's Amplifier" in the latest handbook and it mentions using a pair of GI-7B tubes. I have a pair of these I was going to use for a Clipperton L conversion, but I

Every time I've seen negative grid current it was due to a shorted tube. You might try taking one of the tubes out and seeing if you can isolate it to a single tube. I don't know what experience you

I got the tubes from Dr Alex, UR4LL. The GI-7BT's are what I got. They are supposed to be a little more rugged than the GI-7B. Seems like I got the sockets and bias board from K4POZ. In the 2018 hand

How does one go about identifying what mfg made the Russian tubes?   The GI-7BT's I have have purple ceramic.  They have some marking on them, but no mfg name. One of these days I'll get around to bu

Best bet would likely be Mouser or Digi-Key.   Take a digital micrometer and measure the dimensions of the switch body.  Search for a rocker switch of similar ratings on the Mouser or Digi-Key websit

Hi Carl, MFJ said they use SAF-T-EZE anti-seize. Oren Elliot no longer makes roller inductors. They said they stopped selling them to MFJ around 20 years ago and MFJ makes their own roller inductors

It may be silver plated copper wound on a ceramic form. It's all nice and shiny though. Silver will tarnish over time. I'd think it would be black like the coil in my L-4B. I about have to use a tune
