Hi :) I have found the FT_1000D has a fit with that problem when RF is in the shack. We found coax problems to this one. Once we fixed it, we found no more problems with the amp on (a commander 2500)

Hi Barry The voltage in W/VE home is 240, but the feed transformer is center tapped so you get 120 volts that way. Most outlets in W/VE homes are 120 volts split from the 220 volt center tapped feed
