- The parts in question are capacitors. They take the place of the dipped micas and offer a little better tolerance, as well as (sometimes) higher working voltages. Hope this helps. Usually made by Une

- They look like flat mica matching capicators to me. Check the Motorola RF Devices manual and you will see them in a lot of their test circuits. They typically put two in parallel to reduce the induct
