- I have completed my 2 tube 4-1000A amp but am experiencing self oscillation when I apply plate voltage. My question is do I need to add a neutralization capacitor in the plate line? I reviewed all th

- ORIGINAL MESSAGE: REPLY: The first question is what is the frequency of the oscillation? Grounded grid tubes rarely oscillate at the operating frequency. Most likely you have a VHF parasitic, in whic

- Thanks to all for the replies. I have not measured the frequency of the oscillation as of yet. The sockets I am using are the plastic Eimac and the grid/screen pins are tied to ground using one piece

- ORIGINAL MESSAGE: REPLY: I would add that now. That will greatly reduce the input impedance at VHF and may be all you need to stop the oscillation. A simple LC parallel resonant tank with a Q of thre

- The suppressor seems too small to me! I would expect to see about 2 to 4 turns of that copper strap, about 1 inch in diameter. As for the oscillation frequency, an educated guess would be 80-90 MHz,

- Not to mention heat radiation between tubes. A black shield will help keep 'em cool. Don WA4NPL _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.cont
