I'm working on a SB1000 from an estate that sat idle for maybe a decade, and prior to that it had little use. Last known it was working but now it is blowing fuses... I have pulled both HV secondary

Personaly , I would just isolate the power transformer and test it out of circuit , once it is eliminated as a problem work back ......................................................................

The last SB-1000 that I worked on had a shorted plate transformer. So it's not unusual. Ameritron has replacements with instructions. The replacement is not a wire for wire replacement. 73 Jim W7RY _
