I agree with Howie N4AF - don't rule out using SO2R in the Sprints. I used it in the NS Ladder competition this summer and it worked out pretty well for me as a low power, low antenna contester. One

I agree that when done right, SO2R is vy useful and, in the hands of a skilled practitioner, (which I am not) is a joy to behold. My objection is to those who do not use it correctly and just tie up

I have never done a sprint contest so I will comment on this thread generically as an experienced but still improving SO2R operator. In my opinion, the CQ answer always gets the priority over working

I would agree with you for every contest except the sprint. Since any CQ you answer on the CQ radio will be gone after one QSO it sort of makes both radios just like your CQ radio in another contest.
